Sexual Assault Services

For those who have been victims of or affected by sexual assault, help is available: 24-hour crisis line with crisis intervention, 24-hour hospital rape crisis response, counseling, case management, legal advocacy and other support services are available through The Lighthouse to anyone who has been affected by sexual assault.

24/7 Crisis Line

Safe and confidential help is available 24 hours a day, every day, to victims of domestic violence, rape or sexual assault through our 24-hour crisis lines. Our trained staff and volunteers can offer information to callers on a number of issues, can help them sort out their options, help them with safety planning, or provide referrals to other needed resources in the community. Counseling services are available to all domestic violence and sexual assault victims in Baldwin and Escambia Counties. Services are offered no matter how long ago the incident(s) occurred.

Individual & Group Counseling

Counseling is available to both residents of our shelter and non-residents. Along with our group counseling, we offer a personal safety educational program for children age 5-13. Childcare is available for those attending our support groups.

Court Advocacy

The Lighthouse offers advocacy in all municipal, district, and circuit courts in Baldwin County. Advocacy services for Escambia County are provided by the Escambia County District Attorney’s Office at 251-809-0647.

Safe Shelter

Safe and confidential shelter is available to victims of domestic violence and their children who are in danger and have no place to go. Shelter services include case management, and other support and direct services. Our shelter is secure, and offers a nutritional program, a playroom, and a playground for children.

In-Service Training

The Lighthouse, in partnership with the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence, offers state-certified training to Law Enforcement professionals, legal professionals, medical personnel, and social service professionals on the dynamics of domestic violence, rape and sexual assault.

Community Educational Services

Speakers are available for events, schools, churches, civic clubs, and service organizations. For a listing of available topics and speakers, please call The Lighthouse administrative office at 251-947-6197.

SAIL Program

Direct services are provided in partnership with the Department of Human Resources to offer in-house domestic violence specialist staff at the local office, to provide participating clients with safety planning, service referrals, crisis counseling, advocacy and other services as needed, and to coordinate client and community services offered by DHR-DV programs and other community agencies serving domestic violence victims.
